No compromises on quality
MODELING CONCEPT
|
To make unique die-cast models, the HPI die-cast design team researched major high-quality die-cast models in the market from user's perspective and found out that there are mainly two types of die-cast model collectors. Some collectors remove a die-cast model from the display platform, while others leave the platform attached to the model. Without a platform and clear plastic box, a die-cast model can be closely looked at from all directions and this means every detail requires full attention. Therefore, we made a design concept to precisely reproduce most parts, visible or invisible, in our die-cast models.
We believe there is no need to make a die-cast model of a full-sized vehicle whose high-quality die-cast model already exists in the market. Instead, we are making our own special 1/43 die-cast models. Keep an eye on our new die-cast models! |
REAL CAR COVERAGE
Commitment to accurate data collection
|
Once we select a full-sized vehicle for our new die-cast model, we collect design data of the vehicle, prepare as many as 1,000 photos
of the vehicle and make three-dimensional data based on the photos. We sometimes use a laser-designator to scan a full-sized vehicle
to achieve greatest possible accuracy.

MOLD DETAIL
Commitment to precise replication
|
The crucial point lies in how to use the data of the full-sized vehicle and make the shape of a model
as true to scale as possible. For this purpose, we identify maximum precision in 1/43 scale for each
detail and design a die-cast model with our various methods and elaboration.

MARKING PRINT
|
HPI uses tampo printing method for 95% of the body markings such as sponsor logos, photos and gradation for minicars to keep the colors bright for many years.
|
|
High quality decals made by Cartograf in Italy are used for some bodies for uncompromising quality.

QUALITY CONTROL
|
HPI minicars are all mass produced die-cast models. Serious inspection is conducted in all processes including molding, painting, stamping (finish), and assembly to keep the highest possible quality. |
